Perseid Meteor Shower 2015

Perseid Meteor Shower 2015

Perseid Meteor Shower 2015

Make a wish…. or one hundred.

On the evenings of August 11th through the 13th (2015), the Perseid Meteor shower will be visible in the sky. Thousands of shooting stars will be seen from all around the World.

The best time to view this celestial event is when the night is darkest, usually right before dawn.

The Perseids will be followed by a New Moon on the 14th. Not only does this phase of the Moon make it easier to see these scintillating showers of light, it also carries the energy of New Beginnings, Hope, and Change.

These three nights are perfect for charging a Moon candle spell (or any other object) to conjure these powerful energies of transformation into your life.

You may focus on new projects, overcoming fears, and finally coming to that clear decision you’ve been searching for.

Why are they called the Perseids?

Because they appear to fall from the constellation Perseus. “The name derives in part from the word Perseides (Περσείδες), a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus. (Wikipedia; Perseids).

In Greek mythology, Perseus was known as the quintessential hero. He slayed the gorgon Medusa and rescued the beautiful Andromeda from the sea monster Cetus.

Perseus is also the son of Zeus and a mortal woman named Danaë, whom he impregnated while in the form of a shower of gold – similar to the shower of silver that will cross the skies these nights.

Allow these celestial flashes of insight and illumination to guide you on your continuing path to enlightenment. And, most of all, enjoy :)

~Blessings
